Description

Music and Art are important components of a well-rounded education. Methods for music may include music appreciation, understanding keys, notes, rhythm and measures as well as genres of music. Teacher candidates will play basic instruments like recorders, flutes and drums. Indian music will be emphasized. Art will include using various mediums from crayolas to tempera and naturally occuring substances. Use of a ruler and compass for art work to reinforce traditional designs will be included. Project art such as constructing dioramas and models using various mediums will also be explored.
Prerequisites: Acceptance to Teacher Preparation Program
