Description

This research-focused course is a continuation of academic writing. Students will practice more complex skills in research, writing, and documenation needed for effective academic writing. Emphasis will be placed on instruction in argumentation and conducting research with databases, primary sources, books, journal articles, and other sources. Students will also learn formatting styles and how to introduce, paraphrase, summarize, quote, and blend their cited material into their paper. By the end of the course students should be able to express their ideas persuasively and clearly.
Prerequisite: ENGL 103 with "C" or better
