Description

This course introduces the hydrologic cycle and focuses on precipitation and surface flow. The following topics will be covered and quantitative techniques applied to: precipitation, including causes, duration and measurement; infiltration and soil-water process, evapotranspiration; surface runoff; and flow systems including rivers, channels and impoundments. Basic concepts in fluid mechanics such as pressure, friction and pressure head will also be addressed.
Prerequisite: MIS 113, MATH 134
