Paleontology (NSCI 443)

In this course, students will study the history and evolution of life on Earth as preserved in the fossil records of invertebrates, vertebrates, and plants. Students will also be introduced to aspects of systematic anatomical description, paleoecology, paleoclimatology, and taphonomy. Special emphasis will be placed on Cenozoic fossil floras and faunas of western South Dakota and the Pine Ridge Reservation. Prerequisites: GEOL 153, BIOL 223(3 Credits)
